How Do I Meet People?

The First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with vast responsibilities, we invite you to be part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at The First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon.

Small Group

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than are larger groups are. For that reason, The First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon offers small Bible Studies classes for women on Monday mornings at 9:30 to 11:00 am, and for everyone on Thursday mornings from 9:00 to 10 am. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twenty.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in Sunday School lessons. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child has the opportunity to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. The youth ministry of The First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon is recognized for its close interaction between student and instructor.

Young Adults

Life can get complicated once you cross that nebulous threshold into adulthood. There are complicated decisions: bigger stakes; serious relationships; and many more decisions. The young adult group of The First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon provides a welcoming atmosphere for college and early career aged-young people.

Men’s Prayer Breakfast

On Wednesday mornings, some of the male members (and friends) meet at a local restaurant for breakfast, a short Bible Study, and prayer.  All men are welcome.

Over 50s

Once you get past 50y, the fun has just begin. Whether retired, just plain tired, or active as ever, the over-50 group of The First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon provides refreshment, ministry, and times of valuable interaction. A mentoring ministry gives older believers a chance to meet with and help younger believers grow in Christ.
