Mission and Outreach Committee
It is the mission of the Mission and Outreach Committee to fulfill the commitment of the Church of Jesus Christ to minister to the needs of the poor, the sick, the lonely, and the powerless, locally and throughout the world; to help establish Christ’s just, peaceable, and loving rule in the world; and to be a visible presence of our church in this community.
This church considers its outreach to the local community, the nation, and the world to be an integral and vital part of its ministry. Outreach is accomplished through a wide variety of mission projects within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and Morris County non-profits, including: Chaplaincy Program of Morris County Correctional Facility, Children on the Green, Community Soup Kitchen, Deirdre’s House, Kirkridge TIP, Morris Habitat for Humanity, Homeless Solutions, Morristown Neighborhood House, and The Willow Tree Center. Internationally, we support Community Empowerment Solutions and the efforts of PCEA Newton Nairobi Partnership in Kenya.
Our congregation volunteers hundreds of hours working in the kitchen and serving at the Community Soup Kitchen. We donate Christmas presents for local families as part of the Christmas is for Children initiative and holiday gift packages for local prisoners. We collect and deliver needed items for Kentucky Cares and the Interfaith Food Pantry.
