Darlene Cappel joined our staff in 2001 as Financial Secretary. She previously worked at a bank and a medical firm's accounting department, where she received several promotions to positions of increasing responsibility until she was placed in charge of all receivables. Darlene moved to this area after her marriage. A friend in the community told her of an opening at the First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon, and Darlene started working shortly thereafter.
Darlene is responsible for recording stewardship pledges, posting and depositing weekly offerings and all other donations that are made to the Church. She sends out stewardship statements, thank-you notes, and gift acknowledgements, and handles all questions about donations.
Darlene has taken advanced courses in Servant Keeper, the Church's stewardship tracking software, and is now the Servant Keeper Administrator. She has also taken courses in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Darlene is known for her easy-going manner and her willingness to help as needs arise.

Debbie joined our staff in May 2006 as Manager of Accounting and is responsible for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions for non-stewardship income sources. She handles monthly reconciliations for the operating and fund accounts and produces monthly reports for the Finance Committee and year-end reports for all accounts for the Annual Report.
In June 2009, Debbie temporarily filled in for the Office Administrator and she has been with us in that capacity ever since. She produces the monthly newsletter, The Pipe Organ,
from September through June, and the weekly Sunday bulletin and News & Notes. She keeps our membership informed through this website and by written and email communications. She also coordinates and compiles the Annual Report to the Congregation. Debbie enjoys helping members of the congregation and works closely with those who serve on Session and the Deacons, as well as outside groups that use our facilities.
