Darlene Cappel joined our staff in 2001 as Financial Secretary. She previously worked at a bank and a medical firm’s accounting department, where she received several promotions to positions of increasing responsibility until she was placed in charge of all receivables. Darlene moved to this area after her marriage. A friend in the community told her of an opening at the First Presbyterian Church of New Vernon, and Darlene started working shortly thereafter.
Darlene is responsible for recording stewardship pledges, posting and depositing weekly offerings and all other donations that are made to the Church. She sends out stewardship statements, thank-you notes, and gift acknowledgements, and handles all questions about donations.
Darlene has taken advanced courses in Servant Keeper, the Church’s stewardship tracking software, and is now the Servant Keeper Administrator. She has also taken courses in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel. Darlene is known for her easy-going manner and her willingness to help as needs arise.
